Today I am thankful for:Days 22 & 23

Yesterday was Thanksgiving.  I made dinner here at home and no one even bothered getting dressed (which was totally fine by me!).  I was thankful to spend the day with my family, at home, being totally comfortableWe ate, watched some football, watched a thing on PBS about the dust bowl in the 30's, and just relaxed.  We also plugged in our Christmas tree for the first time this year.

Today I am thankful I did not partake in the Black Friday craziness.  I don't understand the madness behind it.  Sure, some things seem like some really great prices, but it's not worth it to me.  I'll wait for a sale or something, don't expect to see me with all the psycho shoppers who are ready to knock you out of their way to grab an item.  A friend told me her Walmart was so bad she got pushed and nearly knocked over, while the guy beside her DID get knocked to the ground.  His head hit the ground so hard it broke his glasses and knocked him out.  All because some stupid asses needed to get their TV or whatever stupid thing.  Totally unacceptable.

I am thankful for:Days 19, 20, 21

See, told you I have a hard time keeping up with these things.  Let's catch up!

Day 19: I am thankful for my health.  Yes, I have issues that are unresolved, but I am in relatively good health.

Day 20: I am thankful that I have people that love me.  I have a pretty small circle of friends of family, but the ones I have I know I can count on and they are there for me.

Day 21: I am thankful that I get to spend Thanksgiving with most of the people I love.  My oldest has decided not to join us this year so I am a little upset about that, but my other 2 children and my husband will be with me.  I'm looking forward to day of good food, football, and movies.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving tag!

I was tagged by Kristen at http://www.amodernmrs.com/ in a Thanksgiving survey.  Sounds like fun so let's get started!

A Modern Mrs.
1.Do you have any family traditions? If so, what are they?
Not really.  After dinner is ready we do all gather in the living room withour food and start watching movies.  Usually it's Christmas movies, or maybe James Bond if we can find a marathon.  Then later at night we put up our Christmas tree.

2.What's on the menu this year?
We generally have the same thing every year.  Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits or rolls, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, and stuffing.  And of course pumpkin pie and Cool Whip!

3. Do you watch the Macy's Parade, the football game(s), or both?
I'm always busy cooking the first half of the day so I rarely watch the parade.  We always end up watching football though.

4.Do you shop on Black Friday? Online or in-store?
I do NOT shop on Black Friday.  I went out once a few years ago, and honestly it wasn't worth it.  This year I am pretty much done with my shopping already so I haven't even looked at the ads.  Black Friday is too scary for me.  No thanks!

5.Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?
Yes we have!  I had my husband put up our outside lights last weekend while the weather was nice.  My daughter and I also got the tree up and decorated this past Wednesday.  I don't do a whole lot of decorating in the house with the pets (especially having a kitten in the house!) because they get messed up or torn down.

6.Share your favorite Thanksgiving picture!
I don't have one.  We stay home together, and half of the time no one even bothers to get dressed.  We eat, watch tv, and laze about.

If you'd like to do this tag please let me know so I can read it! Or, if you'd like to leave the answers in a comment that'd be awesome, too!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Today I am thankful for:Days 17 & 18

Yesterday I was thankful to be included in a family friend's daughter's birthday celebration.  I know that sounds weird, but this family invites us over for a lot of things-holidays, birthdays, wedding receptions....I appreciate that they think enough of us to include us on those days.  I like spending time with them and my kids love playing with their kids.

Today I am thankful I got to meet my oldest son's girlfriend (and see my son) yesterday.  He was on the other side of town and asked us to come meet them.  Of course he then asked to borrow money. LOL  This girl and my son have been best friends for over a year and started dating a month ago.  She seems like a nice girl, and she's cute!  I'm glad he wanted us to meet each other.  I've heard about her for so long, it was nice to finally see her.

Today I am thankful for:Days 15 & 16

Today I am thankful for the job my husband has been on a few weeks.  It pays very well and has been compensating for the 2nd part time job he did have before.  We are able to pay bills, have a little left over, and the kids and I get to see him so much more.  It's been really nice having him around.

I am also thankful I was able to have my eyes checked out.  I was actually HOPING they'd tell me I needed glasses because I'm hoping they will help with the headaches I have EVERY day. Sometimes they're not too bad, sometimes they pack a good whallop, and a few times they've turned into migraines.  I'll have them next week so I'll see!

Today I am thankful for:Days 13 & 14

See, I'm struggling to keep up with this.  I'm trying my best to do it because I have a hard time finishing what I start.

Yesterday I was thankful that my test results came back ok.  I still believe I have something wrong, but thankful to know it's not what I thought it was.

Today I am thankful for my freedom.  I can voice my opinions and thoughts and I can go wherever I want whenever I want (within legal limits of course).

I also realized I forgot to do day 7 so I'll throw that in here too.  For that I am thankful that I have the memories of my grandmother.  She passed away 22 years ago and I still miss her and think about her so much every day.  My kids would have loved her so much and I know she would have loved them.  I'm glad I got the years with her that I did.

Today I am thankful for:Days 9-12

Once the weekend rolls around I totally lose track of what I'm doing.  I hate to lump 4 days of this together, but I'm going to.  I'm trying to make sure I complete every day this month, it's sort of like a personal goal.  I'm very bad at starting things and then never finishing them.

Things I am thankful for:

I am thankful for having a computer.  Sounds lame, but I don't get out a whole lot and it's my doorway to the rest of the world.  I get to see so many things I never would without it.

I am thankful for having a car.  With 2 kids going to 2 different schools/coming home at different times, and the weather starting to get cold, I'm really thankful we don't have to do a lot of walking.

I am thankful for the things we are able to take the kids to do. Sometimes it's not much, maybe just a walk in the park, but I hope they will think back to some of the times we spend together and feel happy about them.

I am thankful for Jillian Michaels. Ok, I know this one sounds totally crazy, but her dvd's are the only ones I've ever used and actually gotten/seen results.  I haven't been working out much the past month with the health stuff and other things going on, but I will get back into it.  I always feel so good after completing a workout.

Have you been feeling thankful this month?  What are some of the things you're thankful for?

Today I am thankful for:Day 8

Today I am thankful for laughter.  I did so much laughing today-I don't remember the last time I laughed so much.  My stomach is going to be so sore tomorrow.  It was a good day!

Today I am thankful for:Day 6

Today I am thankful that all of this election stuff will be over today!  It gets really annoying to hear the same crap over and over and a million times a day.

Today I am thankful for:Days 4 and 5

I got really busy yesterday and forgot to do day 4, so here's yesterday and today.

Day 4-I am very thankful my husband works for a good company.  They are really taking steps to take care of him and actually pay him well for everything he does/knows how to.  This is the first place that has treated him right.

Day 5-Today I am thankful for a roof over our heads.  It may not be the nicest house, the biggest house, or the cleanest house, but it's ours and I'm glad to call it home.
